    The dirty secret they're not telling you is that heavy rust requires mechanical abrasion first, and sometimes even after laser cleaning. The plasma produced by the laser converts the surface of heavier rust into an unknown grey material (carbon probably), but if you scrape it mechanically, you'll find rust underneath. I know this first hand.

    Very impressive! No need for toxic chemical stripping, as well as toxic waste disposal problems, no more huge compressor to run sand blaster and all the abrasive material that goes with that. A couple of questions: 1. What is the surface temp of the material while being cleaned? 2. Will it clean off powder coat? 3. What happens when the laser hits grease or oils on the surface?

The surface temperature will only be affected if the area is exposed to the laser beam for an extended period. 2.) Yes, our lasers can be used to remove powder coatings effectively. 3.)       Yes, the laser will initially melt the snow or ice and then work on the underlying material.

      The pulse laser in our CleanTech LPC-300-CTHD generally doesn't generate enough heat to warp aluminum. However, prolonged focusing of the laser beam on a specific substrate area with low thermal mass can lead to some warping and annealing of the metal.

      Great question! The systems shown in the video are pulse lasers, which do not vary much in temperature despite the different wattage. Pulse lasers generally do not heat surfaces drastically, regardless of wattage power.

      @@masonhamlin8239 The CleanTech Handheld LPC-100-CTHD is a convenient tool for antique wood restoration on picture frames, doors, and more. The laser can diminish or remove stains, fingerprints, and paint; however, some coatings are more challenging. The wood can be “charred” during exposure, causing the wooden target to burn. When cleaning wood, starting the laser at its lowest power cleaning setting is best to protect the material from damage.
